Open Source quotes

"You can try to avoid open source, but it's probably easier to get out of the IT business altogether. By 2011, at least 80% of commercial software will contain significant amounts of open source code."

Scarlet Beta2 released
December 5, 2007 @ 2:32 pm

Sourcesense is proud to announce the immediate release of Scarlet 1.0B2, the clustering solution for Atlassian Jira built on top of Terracotta DSO. This release adds support for Jira version 3.11 as well as clustering of services, plus other bug fixes and improvements.

The changelog for Beta 2 is:

  • Jira 3.11 compatibility : previous versions are no more supported.
  • Jira services clustering : Jira services now work in cluster and run once per cluster by default.
  • Jira distributed services : just implement the new com.atlassian.jira.service.JiraDistributedService interface for having services run on every node in the cluster.
  • Scarlet doesn’t need a dummy index directory for Lucene indexes.

Scarlet is distributed under the MPL Open Source license and can be downloaded from at http://cargo.sourcesense.com/scarlet/Scarlet-1_0_Beta2.zip. Commercial support is available directly from Sourcesense: please contact atlassian@sourcesense.com for inquiries.
