Sourcesense UK Announces New Managing Director

Marco Abis to lead Sourcesense UK

LONDON and AMSTERDAM – 16 March, 2009 – Sourcesense, the leading European provider of Open Source and Agile services, today announced the appointment of Marco Abis as UK Managing Director. Abis brings more than 13 years of technology experience to Sourcesense, most recently serving as Global Programme Management Officer of global IT consultancy ThoughtWorks.

Abis has a notable track record ranging from successful entrepreneurship to directorship of multinational companies. As Managing Director, he will take on the challenge of bringing the UK branch of Sourcesense to a new level, further accelerating the impressive growth the company has been experiencing in the past year and contributing to the overall success of the pan-European organization.

Abis initially served ThoughtWorks as Senior Project Manager in the delivery of multi-million pounds, high business valued, high quality object oriented projects and the integration of disparate systems with a particular focus on Object Orientation, Team Building, Agile Tailoring and development methods. Prior to that he successfully built 2 IT companies in Italy.

 Abis is also heavily involved in the Agile Community, speaking and organising workshops and conferences like the Italian Agile Day as well as having served on the Programme Committee of events like XP2004, XP2005, XP2006, XP2007. He also served the Agile Alliance Board of Directors for two years.
